Do you think the current Tea Party is only the beginning and will grow?

I saw a great comment by Maxwell in that 7% of the politicians are tea party and are influencing about 67% of the political direction, the S&P could make it 100%. All this, because the Tea Party movement is based in today’s reality. The only criticism of the I see of the tea party is that they have members that will push pro-life, anti-gay or whatever pinned to them. If the tea party takes on these issues, the debt issue will be diminished. However, if it gets abortion de-funded, that will satisfy the debt goal.

    2. John E Says:

The tea party will continue to grow as more democrats turn independent, more independents have an alternative to the republican machine (a great liberal bastion), and past-republicans will realize that their goals are not served by the RNC.

The greatest freedom, and that under greatest attack by Obama et al, is financial freedom, economic freedom. We can worry about many other issues later, but this has to be addressed, and the republicans and democrats are turncoats & traitors.

    3. High Priestess Shizuka Says:

I think it is over right now. There are just a few people who do not know yet. All Tea Party caucus members will be saying they never were really supporters very soon. Not saying conservatism is dead. They will become another name soon or go back to John Birch society or something. The budget debate gave TEA party too much baggage to carry.

    4. This ain't over yet Says:

Not a chance. The S&P report made it very clear that it was the Tea Party that was responsible for the downgrade.

IF Obama wants a 2nd term, he best learn damn quick how to balance a check book else he’s toast.

    11. brown9500v13 Says:

I think that when people see their interest rates go up they will disavow the Teabaggers.

They voted for them for one reason…. they promised to save them money.

Instead, they have imposed yet another cost on them.

That is what you expect from hack revolutionary ideologues.

“Well, okay… but your TAXES didn’t go up” will make a REALLY crappy campaign slogan.

    12. Paul Jackson Says:

They are as good as dead as a political movement. They have been absolutely no help in the debt negotiations and if you actually read the Standard & Poor’s report on why they lowered the debt ceiling it’s very obvious that they agree.
